Visions of Things to Come -

As I'm packing a suitcase (to be out of town for a few days), doing laundry, chasing a little boy, washing dishes, and trying to find my other shoe (most likely floating in the dog's water dish)....I'm also trying to get ready for my Trunk show Wednesday.
Here are a few pictures of my work room - hope you enjoy!

Sweet Spring Skirts with a Vintage Touch

I'm thinking spring - and starting to think about what my children will be wearing for Easter. The goal is a dress made from a vintage sheet (of course) paired with new material from Joann's. Then little boy will wear Jon Jon's (or shorts - don't know yet) made from the same new material from Joann's. The problem is finding the time to get it all done - which is why I caved and bought them new outfits from Orient Expressed last year. I loved the outfits, just not the crazy price!
I've just recently posted these skirts on Etsy for any darling Easter ensemble for your little girl!
Head over to my Etsy Site to take a look.

They are all made from vintage pillowcases - so one of a kind for sure! They will fit a wide range of sizes - the model in the pictures is a size 5 - but I think sizes 4-7 would be great.

Craft Shows Here I Come

Just wanted to share with you a few pictures of the items I'll have for sale in Indiana these next few weeks. The first show is Saturday, November 15th and the second is Saturday, December 6th. I will also be setting up in my town during the Christmas Tyme Celebration on the 6th. I'll be at Milestone Portraits again (same place we had our pictures taken a few weeks ago) I'm headed to the post office to ship everything off to my sister as soon as my boy gets up from his nap and his sister steps off of the school bus.

Along with the hats and diaper/wipe bags, I'll have an assortment of other items - pillowcase skirts, glamo camo items, fleece hats, and bibs. I really wanted to have more ready, but this was all I could get done. My sweet hubby has offered to take the kids all day Sunday so that I can have the entire day to sew. So, hopefully I'll have more items to add to my Etsy shop. Getting antsy for some apron sewing!

Men In Trees and a Pillowcase Skirt

Can you believe that ABC is so stupid as to cancel Men In Trees??! Well, I guess they never asked me anyway. I can still have my opinion, and my opinion is that it's a great show. I'm wondering how they will end things. Did you know that Patrick got his memory back on tonight's episode?
I love the light heartedness of the show, the romance, and the questions that are posed among other things. Tonight's question to ponder was whether or not it is a good thing to reveal everything about ourselves, whether or not it's better to know some things, or to remain in the dark about them. Maryn caught Julia's husband with another woman and she wonders if it is better to tell her, or to stay out of it.

I think for myself, as painful as it might be at the time, I would much rather have the whole truth. Honesty has to be the best route, don't you think?

Another reason I love the show is the Aprons! Have you noticed? Annie wore a cute ruffled one tonight and I have seen Maryn in several while she's cooking. You have to love that - I have been looking all over the web for a picture of her wearing an apron but can't seem to find one.

ABC, you really should consider bringing this show back! If you're interested in reading more, you can check out http://www.anneheche.com/ - go to the forums and there is a MiT section. You can also read more about it at http://www.abc.com/

Since I can't find a good picture of Maryn or Annie in an apron, I'll share a little skirt I recently made from a vintage pillowcase. I used a pink hankie and tattered doily on the front. These little skirts are fun to make from pillowcases, because #1 the fabric is unusual and #2 the hem is already done.

Well, I've got to get some sleep - this post is taking forever because my computer keeps jamming up. Ugh -

Good night!

Vintage Pillowcase Skirt

I wanted to share with you all my newest creation. It's made from a vintage pillowcase, vintage lavendar rick rack and 3 cute little vintage buttons. All with a drawstring/elastic waist. So cute for summer. Also great for the fall with a pair of leggings. It's now posted on my Etsy Shop if you're interested.

My little model just received a new pair of gold flip flops (see photo). That girl loves shoes! It's amazing how a new pair of $3.50 flip flops can make a girl happy! Welcome summer.

Vintage Pillowcase + Vintage Doily = One Adorable Skirt!

This little skirt I made using a vintage pillowcase and a vintage doily. So cute and pretty, it reminds me of spring!
It'll be available on my Etsy Shop, just as soon as I get the kiddos in bed and the kitchen cleaned up tonight (I'm leaving the crumpled up clothes in the dryer and dirty floors until tomorrow!).
